Jackson Community Garden Committee’s 18th Annual Big Seed Garden Fair & Beet Plant Competition.


Party day:

9:30 am to 12 pm (arrive early)
Contest starts at exactly 10:00 am sharp.

The contest is for the best "plant", and not the actual beet (what's below the ground).

Beet Plant Seeds
Planting Instructions:

We will supply you with free beet seeds.
1. Cut the top off an empty 1 gallon milk container.

2. Poke 4 holes in the bottom for drainage and fill with potting soil and water it to make it moist.

3. Place a plate or pie tin under your container to catch the water.

4. Plant seeds 1/4” deep and cover with moist dirt.  To keep the dirt moist, cover the pot with clear plastic wrap.  Once seeds have sprouted, remove plastic wrap and water. 

5. Bring your plant to our contest May 16 at 9:30 a.m. for judging.

6. Judging begins at 10:00 am. sharp.  Late entries not accepted. 

FIRST, SECOND and THIRD place will be awarded.

Children are amazed at what God can do with a seed.
